Birth of Venus

And then she was born, not as a baby, but born as a women

She was beautiful, a different beautiful, earthly beautiful

They could tell she was different, that she wasn’t human

She was naked, her body was natural

The women was appalled and envious trying to cover her

Forgetting she was just born, and that everyone is born nude

Her skin was pale, and her bronze hair was long
She covered herself with it
She wasn’t born with innocence
She was a goddess.

  1. "She wasn't born with innocence." That's such an interesting concept you bring up in this poem...

  2. I like how you explain that she possessed a different kind of beauty, an "earthly" beauty. This poem really brings the picture to life.
