I am Alexandrah Banks

I am…
A middle child, raised by her grandparents brought up by religion with the desperation not to listen.
A daughter in love with her father, sometimes pretending he was what he wasn’t, missing him when I need him the most with the idea of him constantly ticking in my head, recognizing the feeling of his absence and becoming friends with the pain of it.
Another daughter and a different daughter to the women who brought me into this world, rebellious when I shouldn’t be only because I need her attention.
A sister to four beautiful girls, dividing my heart into four sections each of them having a little piece, they are my best friends and my backbone through everything, teaching me how to be who and what I am.
An auntie, to two precious baby boys who came along just when we needed them, softening my sisters heart after losing our father. Dre and Kash marked the happy beginning to a new and difficult lifestyle for everyone.
I am…
Fashion, Hair and Makeup
Cliché, Everything girly that you can think of, always trying to figure out what my style is because I want to be them all. But always different and never basic.
Short hair, long hair, curly hair, straight hair, no hair soon to be blue hair.
Dreams and ambitions, always thinking about what I want in life,
Lust for money, not greedy money, comfortable money.
I am…
A candy bar
Chocolate eyes, Chocolate hair and Carmel complexion compliments of my vanilla mom and chocolate dad.
Thick not thin, but very comfortable in my own skin.
Revealing anatomy, less is more and sometimes more is less, winged eyeliner, bronze cheeks and glossy lips.
Still 17, Freedom right around the corner, but sometimes that corner is to far away.

  3. What a powerful and poetic line about missing your dad: "recognizing the feeling of his absence and becoming friends with the pain of it." I also like what you say about wanting enough money to be comfortable and never being basic. This is you, Allie! And I like it very much!
